COVID UPDATE
Infection Control Policy for Pandemics Including COVID-19
Safety is paramount. We have taken the following steps (listed below) to minimise the risk to the children in our classes and the staff running them:
Teachers will take a LFT twice a week and will not attend classes if the test is positive.
Before the session
- All children should use the toilet at home BEFORE coming to the session, to minimise use of the facilities during classes. Toilets are still available at classes (see below)
- All children and parents/carers to queue OUTSIDE using the current social distancing guidelines until asked to enter by the teacher. We will be maintaining ‘class’ bubbles, so they will not be admitted until the previous class has finished. Where possible children will leave and exit the building using a different route. There are new staggered start times to all classes.
- No Parents/Carers are permitted to enter the Hall (unless in an emergency)
- You are responsible for your child/children until they have been admitted into the Hall.
- All children to use hand sanitiser (provided) as they enter and put on a facemask if required. Children over the age of 10 should wear a face make when entering, leaving and moving around the hall. Anyone over the age of 16 will scan the QR code as they enter the building.
- All children present will be recorded on the register
During the session
- All activities will follow the social distancing guidelines in force at the time. We will use disc markers where appropriate and children will have a designated place to sit. The numbers of children in the class will be dictated by the size of venue and the social distancing guidelines in force at the time
- If we are advised that masks are required (eg including for singing, if necessary) children will need to bring their own masks
- Children will not be allowed to eat in the session. They will be able to bring their own water bottle.
- Tissues will be available for children who need to use them during the session. Children will be told to CATCH IT, BIN IT, KILL IT
- If a child needs to use the toilet, they will be allowed to do so, one at a time and be asked to wipe any areas they touched using anti-bacterial wipes (provided). Help will be provided if necessary.
- There is no use of shared equipment in the sessions. For LAMDA classes please bring your own printouts of material, pens and notepaper.
- Windows and doors will be open where possible to provide adequate ventilation.
- Floor markings will be used to help with social distancing
After the session
- All parents/Carers should wait OUTSIDE using the current social distancing guidelines. The teacher will come to door of the Hall and allow the children to leave one at a time. Please be prompt to drop off and collect your child, so that sessions can run to time. We will make this process work as smoothly as possible, but please be patient with this new procedure.
- All door handles, light switches etc and any equipment used during the session will be cleaned with anti-bacterial wipes before the next class is admitted.
****************************************************************
DO NOT ATTEND CLASS IF YOUR CHILD OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD IS SHOWING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 OR HAS BEEN ASKED TO SELF ISOLATE
IF WE ARE ADVISED THAT ANYONE ATTENDING ANY SESSION HAS CONTRACTED COVID-19 WE WILL CONTACT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AUTHORITY TO DISCUSS THE CASE, IDENTIFY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THEM AND WILL TAKE ADVICE ON ANY ACTIONS OR PRECAUTIONS THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN.
****************************************************************
In the event that an entire class is advised to self-isolate, teaching will continue, at the normal time, using ZOOM online.
As usual, refunds will not be issued for non-attendance at classes for any reason. Refunds will be given in the unlikely event that HCTG is forced to cancel classes completely.
